Various types of sandwiches are commonly called sandwiches in our gastronomic culture. It is difficult to say how correct this name is for a piece of bread with sausage. Originally, a sandwich was bread with butter, without additional components.
By the way, classic sandwiches were prepared in aristocratic families in order to make breakfast more nourishing. Only in the XX century, sandwiches with butter became obsolete.
We want to show you a way to prepare true sandwiches, which can hardly be called sandwiches.
Ingredients for sandwiches:
- bread – 12 slices;
- hard cheese –
- melted cheese – 12 slices;
- salt – a pinch;
- ham – 6 slices;
- milk – 100 ml;
- eggs – 2 pcs.
Preparation of sandwiches:
Lay out parchment on a baking tray, place 6 slices of bread on the baking paper. Place 6 slices of cheese on the bread and then the ham. Cover the ham with the remaining slices of processed cheese and bread.
In a separate bowl, combine the eggs and milk, mix thoroughly and salt. Shred hard cheese on large grating cutters
. Smear the sandwiches with the egg and milk mixture, dip them in this liquid. Sprinkle the rest of the mixture over the surface of the sandwiches.
Place a slice of butter on top of the sandwiches, and create cheese caps of hard cheese. Bake the sandwiches at 190-200 degrees for about 15-20 minutes.
In addition to cheese and ham, you can use as a filling additionally lettuce leaves, tomatoes and cucumbers.
