Ingredients for fried chicken shanks:
- chicken legs – 8 pcs;
- salt – 1.5 tsp;
- butter – 2 tablespoons;
- olive oil – 2 tbsp;
- onion – 2 pieces;
- garlic – 2 cloves;
- cream – 200 ml;
- oregano – 2 tsp;
- nutmeg – ½ tsp;
- chicken broth – 200 ml;
- bay leaves – 2 pcs;
- mushrooms – 5 pcs.
Preparation of fried chicken shanks:
In each chicken shank make a couple of longitudinal cuts on each side of the bone. Sprinkle salt on both sides of the chicken shanks.
In a skillet over medium heat melt butter, add olive oil.
Fry the chicken shanks on both sides until golden. Place the shanks in a separate bowl.
Cut onions into half rings. Fry the onions in the same oil in which the chicken was fried. Chop garlic cloves finely, add

Put the roasted chicken shanks into the cream. Pour the broth into the pan, add bay leaves and braise the meat under the lid for 25 minutes.
