Perhaps the older generation can still remember some of the baked goods that were prepared in kindergartens and schools in the Soviet Union. For example, one of the forgotten but incredibly tasty desserts was milk pie.

It turns out that this type of pastry came to our country from Greece. There, milk pie has a special role in the traditional aspect of the nation.

It is the Milk Pie that Greeks consume during Cheese Week. Of course, besides this pie, the holiday has other significant foods. However, it was the milk pastry that interested our cooks. Milk

pie became popular in children’s institutions, as it was budget-friendly, while tasty and healthy.

We tried to find a recipe for Soviet milk pie

From the Greek cooking algorithm, this one differs, but it also turns out delicious.

Ingredients for milk pie:

  • eggs – 2 pcs;
  • boiled condensed milk – 2 tbsp;
  • sugar – 150 g;
  • leavening agent – 10 g;
  • vanilla sugar – 10 g;
  • flour – 250 g;
  • milk – 150 ml;
  • vegetable oil – 100 ml;
  • salt – ⅓ tsp.

Preparation of milk cake:

In a bowl with eggs pour vanilla and classic granulated sugar, whisk the ingredients until the grains of sand dissolve. To the sugar mixture add salt, milk and vegetable oil, mix the products well.
