Soft as fluff and low-calorie: delicious pies in the oven. Flourless and yeast-free

There is a legend that in ancient Greece, pies were invented as an alternative to tableware. In those times there was no porcelain, earthenware or even glass, so pies and other pastries were used as plates – various treats were put on them. In addition, in some countries, pies served as letters.

In Ireland, for example, for many centuries there was a tradition of preparing a “message pie”. Various objects were hidden in the dough, each of which meant something. The recipient of such a pie had to correctly solve the secret signs.

Now pies are used for their intended purpose – used for food. Let’s tell you how to bake delicious cabbage pies without yeast.

Ingredients for cabbage pies:

  • cottage cheese – 250 g;
  • egg – pcs;
  • salt – ½ tsp;
  • sugar – 1 tsp;
  • sour cream – 2 tbsp;
  • flour – 200 g;
  • baking soda – ½ tsp;
  • vinegar – tsp.

Ingredients for the filling:

  • vegetable oil – 2 tbsp;
  • onion – pcs;
  • carrots – pcs;
  • cabbage – 400 g;
  • tomato juice – 130 ml;
  • salt – ⅓ tsp;
  • ground black pepper – a pinch;
  • bay leaf – pcs.

Preparation of cabbage pies:

In a bowl with cottage cheese pour salt and sugar. Break the egg, add sour cream. Pour vinegar into the baking soda, pour the extinguished baking soda into the cottage cheese, mix the ingredients thoroughly.

Pour the flour gradually to the cottage cheese, knead elastic and soft dough
