Halushki in soups is quite a common dish among Eastern and Western Slavs. Galushki made of dough were cooked either separately or in soups and chowder throughout the country. The
first mention of soups with galushki came to us from the 19th century, from Kursk province. However, the dish existed on the tables of peasants much longer. Most likely, earlier cooks did not pay attention to such a simple peasant dish.
Galushki were prepared for simple soups to make them more nourishing. Dishes similar to halushki were also seen in Ingushetia and Chechnya. But, called such galushki in a different way.
Let’s tell you how to cook a simple soup with galushki for the whole family.
Ingredients for soup with galushki:
- carrots – 2 pcs;
- onion – 2 pcs.;
- garlic – 3 cloves;
- chicken meat – 200 g;
- potatoes – pcs;
- lard – 50 g;
- sour cream – tbsp;
- egg – pcs;
- flour – 2 tbsp;
- water – 2.5 liters.
Preparation of soup with galushki:
Boil in water chicken fillet until ready. Rub on a fine grater peeled carrots, cut into small cubes onions,

In a frying pan with vegetable oil put onions and carrots, garlic, fry until golden.

Cut small pieces of lard, fry in the frying pan where the vegetables were previously cooked. Put in a bowl fried lard, sour cream, beat an egg, pour flour, salt and mix thoroughly.
In a saucepan with chicken broth put the fried potatoes and potatoes, cook until the potatoes are ready for 15 minutes. Dip a teaspoon into the soup and then scoop out the dough. Put the spoon with the dough into the soup, so we create galushki in the dish.
After all the dough will be involved in the soup, cook it for 2-3 minutes.
To decorate the soup, you can shred some green onions into it.
