Orange cookies have a rich history that begins in Europe. The exact origin of this dessert is unknown, but it is believed to be related to the use of oranges in cooking since the Middle Ages.
Different countries have their own versions of this cookie. For example, in England, orange cookies are often made with ginger and cinnamon, and in Germany they are made more crumbly and tender. In Russia, orange cookies are also popular and have many variations of recipes. The
popularity of cookies is due not only to the taste, but also to the simplicity of preparation, availability of ingredients and the possibility to experiment with different additives and spices.
Ingredients:
- egg – pcs;
- sugar – 70 g;
- salt – a pinch;
- grated orange zest;
- vegetable oil – 60 ml;
- orange juice – 90 ml;
- flour – 140 g;
- leavening agent – 8 g;
- apricot jam;
- coconut shavings.
Preparation of orange cookies:
Break eggs in a bowl, pour salt, sugar and orange zest, mix. Pour the vegetable oil and orange juice into the mixture and mix again.
Pour the flour and baking powder into the egg and orange juice mixture and knead the dough
.
Pour the thick dough into the baking molds.

Bake cookies at 180 degrees for 20 minutes.

Brush each cookie with apricot jam and sprinkle with coconut shavings.

It turns out excellent orange cookies. You can also decorate the cookies with other sprinkles – chocolate, powdered sugar.
