Pizza has long been considered a culinary symbol of Italy, or rather the calling card of this country. Traditionally, it was made of three ingredients: mozzarella, tomatoes and basil. As a rule, even the poor in Italy could afford this modest set of ingredients. Often, instead of the main ingredients, people put scraps from the table on the dough. So the poor provided themselves with sustenance and unnoticed for all to create a legendary dish.
Today there are thousands of pizza recipes from all over the world. But we will tell you about an alternative recipe, but no less delicious. So, let’s make Belorussian Smazhenki.
Ingredients:
- Milk – 150 ml;
- Fresh yeast – 5 g;
- Salt – tsp;
- Flour – 400 g;
- Olive oil – 50 ml;
- Mayonnaise – tbsp;
- Ketchup – tbsp;
- Sausage – 300 g;
- Red sweet pepper – 2 pcs;
- Tomato – 2 pcs;
- Cheese – 200 g.
Preparation:
Mix in a bowl the milk, yeast, salt, flour and olive oil. The mixture should be stirred well to get a dough without lumps. After that, send the dough to a warm place for 20 minutes.
In the meantime, chop the sausage, red pepper and tomato. Mix mayonnaise and ketchup to make a sauce.
Divide the dough into two equal parts, roll them out into thick tortillas, and make hollows in them.
Lubricate the entire surface of the tortillas with the sauce prepared earlier, put the sausage, then the pepper and tomato in the cavities.
Cover the stuffing with cheese, grated through a fine grater.
Send them to the preheated oven and bake them for 10 minutes at 220℃.
This dish is good in that it does not limit the choice of stuffing. You can experiment with ingredients, creating a mini pizza with mushrooms, seafood or pineapple.
