Flatbreads are flat flour products that are popular in many countries around the world. They can be made from different types of flour and with different additives.
There is a tandyr flatbread, which is a thick flatbread that is baked in a tandyr (a special clay oven). Tandyr flatbread is popular in Central Asia and the Middle East.
There is also Matnakash, an Armenian round yeast flatbread with a soft, airy crumb and a hard, crispy crust
. Also known to a few people is Chapati, an Indian thin flatbread made from whole wheat flour. Chapati is usually eaten with curries or other spicy dishes.
Let us tell you how to make a simple flatbread at home in a frying pan
Ingredients:
- Potatoes – 400 g;
- Potato broth – 250 ml;
- Egg – 1 pc;
- Sugar – 1 tsp;
- Salt – 1 tsp;
- Yeast – 1 tbsp;
- Flour – 550 g.
Preparation of flatbread:
Boil potatoes until ready, mix them with the broth, salt and sugar, break an egg there. Thoroughly mix the mass and knead to a mashed state.
Pour yeast into the mashed potatoes, stir. Sift flour into the mashed potato mixture, knead a soft and slightly sticky dough.
Divide the dough into 6 parts, form small thick tortillas

Make a hole in the middle of each flatbread.

Fry the tortillas one by one in a frying pan in plenty of vegetable oil until golden. Fry the tortillas on both sides.

As a result, we have muffin fried flatbread. They can be used instead of bread for meat and soups.
