Dessert in the form of a roll is considered one of the most common sweets for corporate parties and children’s matinees. At least, this statistic was relevant in the period from 2010 to 2020.
There are different types of rolls. For example, a biscuit roll is a classic variant, which is prepared on the basis of biscuit dough with the addition of sugar, eggs and flour. The filling can be anything, for example, cream from whipped cream or condensed milk.
Poppy seed roll is a dessert that is prepared with poppy seed filling. It gives the pastry a special taste and flavor. The dough can be biscuit or puff pastry.

Ingredients:
- egg – 1 pc;
- yolk – pcs;
- powdered sugar – 90 g;
- soft butter – 110 g;
- lemon zest;
- flour – 300 g;
- leavening agent – 1 tsp;
- jam – 6 tbsp.
Preparation of the roll with jam:
Break an egg in a bowl, add the yolk and powdered sugar, mix. Put butter into the
mixture

Grate lemon zest, add it to the egg and butter mixture. Sift flour and baking powder into the mixture, knead elastic and not sticky dough.
