The famous “4 cups” butterless pie: everyone can make it. The secret is in the puff pastry

What dish was once the centerpiece of any feast? Pie. This pastry always stood in the center of the table as the main decoration of the banquet. The very table pie comes from the word “feast”, i.e. holiday. This is a solemn dish baked for weddings, birth of a child, Orthodox celebrations.

Now the value of the pie has become less. People replace it with meat dishes and delicacies. But, this does not prevent you from preparing a pie every day for your family. You don’t even have to make a hearty meat pie. You can just treat yourself to a sweet vanilla pie.

Ingredients for vanilla pie:

  • semolina – 200 g;
  • Kefir – 200 g;
  • Sugar – 200 g;
  • Flour – 200 g;
  • Eggs – 2 pcs;
  • Vanilla sugar – 1 tsp;
  • Salt – a pinch;
  • Baking powder – 1.5 tsp.

Preparation of vanilla cake:

Mix semolina with kefir in a bowl and leave to swell for 10-20 minutes. Break eggs in a separate bowl, salt and pour sugar and vanilla sugar, beat with a mixer until fluffy.

Pour the egg mixture into the swollen semolina, mix. Combine the flour and baking powder and sift into the semolina and egg mixture, knead a thick dough.

Leave the dough under the lid for 15 minutes

Grease a baking dish with vegetable oil and pour the dough into it.
