Pirozhki is a pastry made of yeast or yeastless dough with a filling inside. And the filling in pies can be different, from vegetable to meat. In addition, many prepare pies with fruit fillings. Such sweet pies can be a budget dessert for the whole family.

Already in ancient Greece and Rome knew about pies. However, the pastry, or rather the dough, served only as a container for the filling.
Now pies are a full-fledged dish, where both the filling and the dough are edible. Let’s tell you how to cook modern pies in a frying pan.
Ingredients of the dough for pirozhki:
- kefir – 200 ml;
- salt – tsp;
- sugar – 2 tsp;
- egg – pcs;
- leavening agent – tsp;
- vegetable oil – 3 tbsp;
- flour – 350 g.
Ingredients for the filling:
- onion – pcs;
- mushroom – 400 g;
- chicken fillet – 300 g;
- cheese – 150 g;
- salt – ½ tsp.
Preparation of patties:
Pour warm kefir into a bowl, pour salt, granulated sugar, break an egg and pour in vegetable oil, mix the components. Pour the flour and baking powder into the kefir and knead the dough

Put the formed dough under cellophane and leave it warm for 20 minutes. Chop
the onion finely, fry it lightly in a frying pan with melted butter

Cut mushrooms into thin slices, fry together with the onions until the liquid evaporates.
Cut chicken fillets into small pieces, put them in a frying pan and fry

Grate cheese finely, pour it into the stuffing together with salt and mix.
After a couple of minutes put the stuffing in a separate bowl until it cools down.
Knead the dough and divide it into 12 equal rolls

Roll out the dough into thick patties with a diameter of about 5-6 cm.
Put the filling into the patties and seal the inside as if it were a pouch.
Place the patties seam-side down and press down lightly.
Pour 200 ml of vegetable oil into a frying pan and heat. Put the patties in the oil and fry on both sides until golden.
Be sure to fry the patties seam side down first so that they do not stick together.
You get soft and tender patties with a juicy filling inside.
