There are many different kinds of salads in the world. Each recipe is different with its own set of ingredients. You can tell where a salad is from by the ingredients. For example, salads with olives are often prepared in Greece, and dishes with cheeses – in Italy. Salads with herring are characteristic of Finland and Norway, and dishes with fruit – for southern countries.
Meat salads are prepared in Germany, and salads with canned products – in the CIS countries. That is, all cooks try to stick to the set of products that is characteristic of their region.

Let’s create a German salad at home

Ingredients for German salad:
- Potatoes – 600 g;
- Salt – 2.5 tsp;
- Red cabbage – 300 g;
- Onion – 1 pc;
- Pickled cucumbers – 6 pcs;
- Canned peas – 200 g;
- Sunflower oil – 200 ml;
- Egg – pcs;
- Sugar – tsp;
- Bavarian mustard – tbsp;
- Garlic – 2 cloves;
- Lemon – 1/2 pcs.
Preparation of German salad:
In boiling water put a spoonful of salt, cook potatoes until ready. Shred cabbage and mix with a spoonful of salt, knead slightly.
Cut onion in half rings, pour boiling water into it. Cool the potatoes in cold water, cut cucumbers into thin plates.
Peel potatoes and cut into quarters, put them in a salad
bowl
together with cabbage. Put

In a deep bowl with vegetable oil, break an egg, pour salt, sugar, add Bavarian mustard
