Surprisingly, German salads are quite similar to what the inhabitants of CIS countries prepare. The fact is that Germans also often add components such as potatoes, onions, garlic and meat to their salads. In addition, salad dressing is abundant.

Ingredients for German salad:
- potatoes – 5 pcs;
- salt – 1.5 tablespoons;
- cabbage – 400 g;
- black pepper – 1/2 tsp;
- apple cider vinegar – 2 tbsp;
- olive oil – 6 tbsp. tbsp;
- red onion;
- vegetable oil – 200 ml;
- garlic – 1 clove;
- pickled cucumbers – 6 pcs;
- milk – 100 ml;
- mustard – 2 tbsp. tbsp;
- baguette;
- Italian seasonings;
- cheese.
Preparation of German salad:
Boil potatoes in water with 1 spoonful of salt until tender. Shred cabbage finely. In a separate bowl mix salt, black pepper, apple cider vinegar and olive
oil. Pour the oily dressing into the shredded cabbage and mix. Peel boiled potatoes and cut into small cubes. Put the potatoes in a bowl with cabbage.
Cut onions in half rings, fry them in a frying pan in vegetable oil. Rub garlic cloves to the onions in the frying pan. Put the onions and garlic in the salad.
Cut pickled cucumbers into circles and send them to the salad. In a separate deep bowl combine vegetable oil and milk, whisk with an immersion blender until homogeneous
. Pour salt, black pepper and mustard into the mixture, whisk again until homogeneous

Dress the salad with this sauce and mix.
Cut small slices of baguette and place on a
baking
tray lined with parchment
. Sprinkle the bread with Italian herbs and grated cheese.
Bake the baguette slices at 200 degrees for 10 minutes.
