The recipe for the legendary salad “Zeus”. In our family it is prepared on all holidays

If in ancient times salads were prepared simply and without frills, then in the 19th century it was time for complex dishes. New recipes appeared that included meat, fish, eggs, cheese and other ingredients.

Salads began to be served in restaurants and cafes, as well as cooked at home.

In the 19th century, salads appeared, which later became considered traditional for European cuisine. New ingredients were added, such as tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, corn, beans and others.

New salad dressings such as mayonnaise, sour cream, vegetable oil and vinegar appeared. Let’s prepare an uncomplicated salad “Zeus”.

Ingredients:

  • tomato – pcs;
  • red onion – pcs.;
  • pickled cucumbers – 2 pieces;
  • green peas – 3 tbsp;
  • salt – a pinch;
  • mayonnaise – tbsp;
  • parsley – a bunch.

Preparation of salad “Zeus”:

Cut small slices of tomato, cut red onion in semicircles and mix in a salad bowl. Cut pickled cucumbers into rings and add to the onion and tomato.

Put green peas in the salad, salt and dress with mayonnaise, mix. Shinkuem a bunch of parsley in the salad and mix.
