Pollock enters the segment of budget-friendly, yet healthy fish. However, not everyone can call pollock delicious. Probably, people do not know how to cook this fish properly. The
fact is that during transportation, pollock, like many other types of fish, is frozen. This is necessary so that the fish does not spoil when moving long distances.
When cooking, not everyone carefully treats the fish in solutions to preserve juiciness. Therefore, after baking or frying, the fish loses all its juices
. It is worth soaking pollock in a mixture of salt and sugar for an hour to retain juiciness. Then it is necessary to cook according to uncomplicated recipes for this fish.
Ingredients for stewed pollock:
- Pollock – 800 g;
- Potatoes – 5 pcs;
- Onion – 4 pcs;
- Butter – 50 g;
- Salt – ½ tsp;
- Grainy mustard – 1 tbsp.
Preparation of stewed pollock:
Clean pollock from gills, fins, tail and innards, get rid of black film. Cut pollock into small pieces and mix with salt and grainy mustard.
Leave the pollock to marinate for half an hour under a lid. Cut the peeled potatoes into small cubes and boil until ready.
Cut onions into half rings and fry in melted butter in a deep pan for a couple of minutes. Don’t forget to sprinkle the onions with sugar.
Put the marinated fish on the onion pillow and stew under a lid for 10 minutes.
Turn the fish pieces over and stew for another 6-7 minutes.
You get a great dinner of pollock with onion sauce and garnish with potatoes.
