should also remember about croissants.
We have known this type of French pastry for quite a long time, since the tsarist times. Croissants are considered the calling card of France. This nation really breakfasts in the morning with a cup of coffee and a croissant with various fillings.
Let’s create this French masterpiece in our kitchen.
Ingredients for croissants:
- cottage cheese – 300 g;
- butter – 100 g;
- powdered sugar – 1.5 tbsp. tbsp;
- vanilla sugar – 10 g;
- leavening agent – tsp;
- flour – 300 g;
- sugar – 2 tbsp.
Preparation of croissants:
In a bowl mix cottage cheese with soft butter, pour to the components powdered sugar, vanilla sugar and leavening agent. After thoroughly mixing the ingredients, gradually sift flour into the cottage cheese mixture
. Knead a dense soft dough with your hands. Put the dough in a cellophane bag and put it in the refrigerator for half an hour.
Divide the dough into two equal parts, each roll out into a round layer of medium thickness. Sprinkle sugar on the surface of the layers, spreading it evenly.
Divide the round layer as if
it
were a pizza into 16 triangles
. At the narrowing of each triangle make a couple of parallel cuts.
Roll the triangles into rolls and place on a parchment-lined baking tray.
Bake the croissants at 180 degrees for 20 minutes in the oven.
After cooking the croissants can be sprinkled with powdered sugar. The recipe is different from the classic one, it is easier and faster.
