For the first time they began to cook meatloaf around the 5th century AD. This information is available to mankind thanks to a cookbook discovered by archaeologists in ancient Rome.
After a while, meatloafs began to improve.
This dish has become very popular in cold countries, where the satiety and fat content of the food is of great importance. Therefore, it is possible to observe many interesting meat recipes in European countries like Sweden and Finland. In our country, there are also recipes for rolls.
For example, it is worth giving a recipe for chicken roll in the oven.
Ingredients for chicken roll:
- Chicken – 1400 g;
- Gouda cheese – 150 g;
- Teriyaki sauce – 100 ml;
- Onion – 2 pcs;
- Ginger root – 20 g;
- Provence herbs – tsp;
- Salt – tsp;
- Black pepper – ½ tsp;
- Vegetable oil – 50 g.
Preparation of chicken roll:
Cut up the chicken carcass, remove gristle, skin and innards. Also get rid of the spine, breast bones and other things.
The resulting layer of chicken meat is covered with cellophane and beaten.
In a separate bowl, mix the chopped ginger root, provan herbs, salt and ground black pepper.
Pour the teriyaki sauce into the spice mixture and stir.
Slice the onion into quarter rings and place in the bowl with the meat. Pour the meat with the mixture of sauce and spices, and leave to marinate for an hour under a lid.
Then spread the meat on a work surface covered with cellophane. Shred cheese on a grater, sprinkle on the surface of the meat. Roll up the meat with the skin upwards and the cheese inside, tie it with special twine.
Grease the baking mold with vegetable oil, bake the chicken roll at 180 degrees for 60 minutes.
Do not forget to release the roll from the string after cooking.
It turns out to be an excellent dish, a substitute for sausage from the store.
