Traditionally in the CIS countries it is customary to prepare salads for New Year’s Eve. As a rule, these are classic recipes like Olivier and Herring under Shuba. If you ask an ordinary passerby what salad will be on his table, there is a 90% probability that he will give an answer related to at least one of the above dishes.
Cooking classic salads for the holidays is a good thing

The classics are time-tested, so it’s hard to go wrong with them. Most guests understand these salads, which gives them a head start over other, lesser-known dishes. But, still on the table there should be something besides the classics, for a change.
Let’s tell you how to cook salad “Tenderness”.
Ingredients for salad “Tenderness”:
- White onion – 1 pc;
- Apple cider vinegar – 1 tbsp;
- Sugar – 1 tsp;
- Salt – a few pinches;
- Potatoes – 350 g;
- Eggs – 6 pcs;
- Small salted trout – 300 g;
- Mayonnaise – 3 tbsp.
Preparation of salad “Tenderness”:
Cut a small diced onion, pour vinegar to it in a bowl, add salt and sugar, leave to marinate for 10 minutes. Boil the potatoes and eggs until ready.
Grate the peeled potatoes on a coarse grater, separate the eggs into yolks and whites. Grate the whites on a coarse grater and the yolks on a fine grater.
Cut the salted trout into small squares

Put ½ of the potato mass in a cooking ring, smear with a mesh of mayonnaise.
On the potato layer put ½ of the onion, on the onion put a layer of half of the protein. Smear the protein layer with mayonnaise, put ½ of the yolk. Smear the yolk with mayonnaise, add fish and onions.
On the fish layer put the rest of the potatoes, create a thin mayonnaise mesh. Pour the whites on the potato layer, and then the yolks. On the layer of yolks put the rest of the fish. Do not forget to smear the layer of protein with mayonnaise.
You can decorate this salad with eggs. Let the salad stand for 1 hour in the refrigerator under a film.
