Cabbage pies are an important dish for Slavic life and culture. The fact is that pies were necessarily present in homes during holidays, wakes and ordinary family dinners.
For each occasion, a certain type of pie was prepared. For the holiday were created mainly meat and sweet pies. One can often notice that cabbage pies acted as memorial pies. But, not in all regions of the CIS countries.
Often cabbage pie was prepared for dinner. Probably, it was baked often because of the abundance of cabbage in the families of peasants.
Now cabbage pies can be prepared whenever you want, without relying on holidays and other moments of life. Let’s make our own lazy cabbage pies.
Ingredients for cabbage pies:
- cabbage – 350 g;
- onion – pcs.;
- carrots – pcs;
- vegetable oil – 40 ml;
- eggs – 2 pcs;
- kefir – 350 ml;
- baking soda – tsp;
- flour – 400 g.
Preparation of cabbage pies:
Shinkuem finely cabbage, cut a small diced onion, and rub carrots on large sharps of grater. Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan, fry the onions lightly
. Add carrots to the onions, fry the vegetables together. Add cabbage to the onion and carrot mixture, fry the vegetables, salt and pepper to taste. Cover the pan with a lid and leave to stew until the vegetables are ready.
Separately beat eggs with salt, also separately beat kefir with baking soda. Pour the kefir into the bowl with the egg mixture, stir. Pour flour into the mixture of kefir and eggs, knead the dough.
In the thick dough put cabbage filling, mix.
In a frying pan with vegetable oil
put
a tablespoon of dough with filling, fry the patties on both sides until golden crust
