You can’t imagine how delicious it is. Ground beef cutlets: cooked and fried in 20 minutes

It’s no secret that in Soviet canteens they used to add bread to cutlets. Some believe that this is to save food. However, the secret is different, bread crumbs, when soaked in milk, allows you to make cutlets creamy. Moreover, their consistency becomes crumbly and the treat itself becomes juicier. Bread is needed in order for it to absorb the meat juice, water, and milk, since meat absorbs only 10% of the liquid.

For cutlets, you should use stale bread, since fresh and soft bread can make the cutlets more dense. Let’s prepare cutlets using bread.

Ingredients for cutlets:

  • minced meat – 500 g;
  • bread – 3-4 slices;
  • potatoes – pcs;
  • onion – pcs;
  • milk – 250 ml;
  • salt;
  • pepper.

Ingredients for gravy:

  • onion – pcs;
  • carrots – pcs;
  • tomato paste – one tbsp;
  • water – 250 ml;
  • sugar – tsp;
  • salt;
  • pepper.

Preparation of cutlets:

Pour milk into a bowl. Separate bread from the crust and soak the crumbs in milk. Let stand.

Add salt and pepper to the minced meat to taste. Grate the onion on a coarse grater. Grate potatoes on a fine grater. Knead the crumbs soaked in milk with a fork. Send all the prepared ingredients to the minced meat.

For breading, pour a small amount of flour into a saucer. With wet hands form cutlets and roll them in flour.

Pour vegetable oil into a heated frying pan

Fry the cutlets on both sides until ready.

To make gravy, finely chop onion and grate carrots. Fry in a pan with oil. Add tomato paste, stir. Pour a pinch of salt and a teaspoon of sugar. Pour in a glass of water.
