Zucchini, like many other New World vegetables, was originally grown as an ornamental plant. Only after some time did people realize that this vegetable could be used as food.
Zucchini were brought from Mexico in the 16th century

But they began to cook them only in the XVIII century. Gradually people began to experiment, boil and fry the vegetable, add it to meat, fish and other products.
Zucchini did not become a favorite dish of the peoples of Europe. However, the contribution of zucchini to gastronomic culture cannot be denied.

Ingredients for fried zucchini:
- Zucchini – 2 pcs;
- Salt – a pinch;
- Hard cheese – 100 g;
- Garlic – 3 cloves;
- Dill – a bunch;
- Ground black pepper – a pinch;
- Mayonnaise – 3 tbsp;
- Tomato – 1 pc;
- Flour – 200 g;
- Eggs – 3 pcs.
Preparation of fried zucchini:
Zucchini should be cut lengthwise into thin plates, put in a deep container and salt. While zucchini absorb salt, grate cheese on small cutters. Rub
garlic into the cheese, add ground black pepper and mayonnaise. Shinkuem finely dill, pour into the cheese mass and mix thoroughly.
Roll zucchini plates first in a bowl of flour, then in a bowl of eggs, then again in flour. Fry zucchini plates in heated vegetable oil on both sides until golden.
Cut the tomato into thin bars. Place the cheese mixture on the fried plates – on ⅓ of the plates. Place a slice of tomato on the cheese mixture and twist into a roll.
The result is a great appetizer for a festive table. This is a budget-friendly, yet unusual dish of zucchini.
